Anil Kumble attacks Paul Reiffel, Sunil Gavaskar questions DRS after Joe Root’s miraculous escape at Lord’s

Legendary India National Cricket Team players Sunil Gavaskar and Anil Kumble were left furious after England National Cricket Team modern-day batting great Joe Root's lucky escape in the third Test match.
Sunil Gavaskar was furious at the DRS technology, while Anil Kumble slammed the umpire Paul Reiffel after Joe Root survived an LBW.
Umpire's call helps Joe Root survive
Joe Root played a brilliant knock in the first innings of the third Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord's in London. He scored 104 runs off 199 balls, with 10 fours to help England post 387 runs on the board.
During the second innings as well, Joe Root looked in solid touch in the middle. He was batting quite well before Mohammed Siraj came to bowl the 38th over and troubled him.
On the third ball of the over, Siraj bowled a delivery that sharply moved into the right-handed batsman, and Joe Root shuffled across to play his shot, but the ball beat the inside edge and struck him onto the pads in front of the middle stump.
It looked out to the naked eye, but the umpire, Paul Reiffel, didn't raise his finger, and India went for a review. Ball-tracking showed that the ball would brush the leg-stump, and Joe Root survived because of the umpire's call.
Mohammed Siraj was absolutely furious after seeing the replay on the giant screen and gave a death stare to the on-field umpire.
It seems Paul Reiffel has decided that it is not going to be not out - Anil Kumble
Speaking on-air, Jonathan Trott said that he felt that the ball would easily crash properly onto the stumps. He said:
“You thought it was crashing into the inside of the stump. When you saw that normal speed, it was hardly missing a leg stump. England survive again. India animated," he said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, Anil Kumble took a savage dig at Paul Reiffel for his terrible umpiring, and he said:
“It seems Paul Reiffel has decided that it is going to be not out. Anything close, not out.”
You're saying it was going to kiss the leg stump? There's no way - Sunil Gavaskar
Legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar was quite bold in his assessment of the dismissal and questioned the DRS technology.
"You're saying it was going to kiss the leg stump? There's no way. It was knocking the leg stump off. The only good thing is that India have not lost the review," Gavaskar said, as quoted by India Today
Also, Jonathan Trott said that he was quite flabbergasted seeing the ball kiss the leg-stump.
"I am flabbergasted. Having looked at that replay, I thought it was crashing into the inside part of the leg stump. Watching it in real time, I couldn't believe it was missing," former England batter Jonathan Trott added.
